dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life, 2019
assorted fabric quilted, foam, stuffing

A 26 foot long quilted snake with my face and a cheeky tongue sticking out to receive the dust of the earth it slithers along. I’ve found myself several times in life surrounded by heavily conservative Christians and forcing myself to conform to their expectations, hiding parts of myself to stay in their good graces. To keep myself safe. I thought often about the vastly different ways they and I viewed life around us. I thought often about “forbidden knowledge”. I longed to shed my fake skin. I’d eat the apple every time.
